Employees of an Arkansas-based telemarketing firm were notified they should find new employment after IT recovery efforts didn’t go according to plan following a ransomware incident that took place at the start of October 2019. After paying the ransom for the key, data recovery efforts did not go according to plan and the company failed to recover full service by Christmas. The company lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because of the incident, leaving the company’s leadership to decide to suspend all services. More than 300 employees were sent home and told to find new jobs just days before Christmas.
