TechRec – Mobile App Series: CamCard, Roambi, & CanWeNetwork

Recent studies have shown that 60% of mobile device users download up to 5 new apps per month and 12% have more than 50 apps on they regularly use, in some cases spending 10% more time working with apps than they do on the internet. To keep up with the demand, developers are creating apps in record numbers. Every month in our Mobile App Series Tech Recs we feature the apps that we believe would be most beneficial to you when running your business. This month we will cover CamCard, Roambi, and CanWeNetwork.

CamCard
Juggling business cards collected at networking events can be cumbersome and even if you have a business card scanner, it usually means a lot of work on the backend inputting contact information for future follow up.  Bump is a great solution but if the person you are bumping doesn’t have the app installed it won’t work.  With CamCard you can capture the contact’s information by taking a picture of the card.  With just one snap, the information is saved in your smart phone’s contacts.  Accidentally delete a contact or even worse, lose your phone?  CamCard provides a secure backup of user’s contact data allowing fast and easy restoration of lost files.

Roambi
Roambi helps busy business owners keep their finger on the pulse of their business from anywhere at anytime.  Offering plan levels to meet the needs of everyone from the individual user wants to see their excel data parsed into interactive charts and graphs, to the small business owner, this mobile app draws data from a variety of commonly used data sources and presents reports and data in cool, easy to understand visual files on your smartphone.

CanWeNetwork
CanWeNetwork is like an online dating service for business professionals.  Using geo-spatial technology and a matching engine, the app recommends people in your area you should meet for professional networking and business opportunities.  Recommendations are based on location, skillset, experience, shared interests and personality traits extracted from LinkedIn profiles. Once downloaded, the app will run in the background of your mobile device to seek connections. Users can set it to alert when new connections are detected or simply review the recommendations it makes and choose to connect at your convenience.
